Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 38 weeks
Size of baby:
Your baby has really plumped up. He weighs about 6.8 pounds and she’s over 19 1/2 inches long (like a leek). credit
What’s baby doing: He has a firm grasp, which you’ll soon be able to test when you hold his hand for the first time! His organs have matured and are ready for life outside the womb.Wondering what color your baby’s eyes will be? You may not be able to tell right away. If he’s born with brown eyes, they’ll likely stay brown. If he’s born with steel gray or dark blue eyes, they may stay gray or blue or turn green, hazel, or brown by the time he’s 9 months old. That’s because a child’s irises (the colored part of the eye) may gain more pigment in the months after he’s born, but they usually won’t get “lighter” or more blue. (Green, hazel, and brown eyes have more pigment than gray or blue eyes.) credit
Whats up with Mommy: We are just waiting for his pending arrival…he has certainly kept us waiting!
Maternity Clothes: yep!
Gender: all boy! although daddy is still insistent that its a girl
Baby’s Heart Rate: upper 140′s
Movement: definatly slowed but I can really feel his hiccups alot these days
What I miss: pants that fit maternity pants just don’t fit quite right they are always falling down and SLEEP!
Cravings: yep still craving root beer! ice cream of coarse, carbs and anything sweet
Weight: -13.5 pounds
Glyburide has helped even out my sugars for the most part, although I did get a really low number on Sunday.
BIG DAY IS FRIDAY APRIL 13!!! Watch your phones friends and family!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 37 weeks
Size of baby: His estimated weight as of today is about 6 pounds 12 ounces. They estimate that he will be about 7 and a half pounds when I deliver next week. Lets see how close they are:)
What’s baby doing: Your baby is now considered “full term,” even though your due date is three weeks away. If you go into labor now, his lungs will likely be mature enough to fully adjust to life outside the womb. Many babies have a full head of hair at birth, with locks from 1/2 inch to 1 1/2 inches long. But don’t be surprised if your baby’s hair isn’t the same color as yours. Dark-haired couples are sometimes thrown for a loop when their children come out as blonds or redheads, and fair-haired couples have been surprised by Elvis look-alikes. And then, of course, some babies sport only peach fuzz. credits
Whats up with Mommy: Braxton Hicks contractions may be coming more frequently now and may last longer and be more uncomfortable. You might also notice an increase in vaginal discharge. If you see some “bloody show” (mucus tinged with a tiny amount of blood) in the toilet or in your undies, labor is probably a few days away — or less. (If you have heavier spotting or bleeding, call your caregiver immediately.)
Also be sure to ask your caregiver about the results of your Group B strep culture. That way, if the result isn’t yet on your chart when you get to the hospital or birth center, you’ll be able to give the staff there a timely heads-up if you need antibiotics.
It may be harder than ever to get comfortable enough to sleep well at night. If you can, take it easy through the day — this may be your last chance to do so for quite a while. Keep monitoring your baby’s movements, too, and let your caregiver know immediately if you notice a decrease. Though her quarters are getting cozy, she should still be as active as before.
While you’re sleeping, you’re likely to have some intense dreams. Anxiety both about labor and about becoming a parent can fuel a lot of strange flights of unconscious fancy.
Maternity Clothes: yep!
Gender: all boy! although daddy is still insistent that its a girl
Baby’s Heart Rate: in the high 140′s
Movement: starting to decrease in the amount of movement which is completely normal for this stage of the game because he is running out of room in there but when he does move my whole belly moves its kinda freaky
What I miss: brushing my teeth without gaging and pants that fit maternity pants just don’t fit quite right they are always falling down and SLEEP!
Cravings: yep still craving root beer! ice cream of coarse, carbs and anything sweet
Weight: I am at -13 pounds again this week nothing gained nothing lost
My sugar numbers are all over the place. I seem to have the most trouble with my numbers 2 hours after lunch. They started me on 2.5 mg of Glyburide today. The Dr said it is really important to keep my sugar in check at the time of delivery as the steroid boost I will get and the stress of surgery with both cause my sugar to increase so hopefully this will help. Today is also the farthest I made it with my pregnancy with Noah so I am officially more pregnant than I have ever been!
LAST appointment: Monday April 9th!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 36 weeks
Size of baby: I didn’t get weights and measure this time but according to the Bump.com about the weight of a coconut but since I am 37 weeks tomorrow more like a watermelon:)
What’s baby doing: Your baby is still packing on the pounds — at the rate of about an ounce a day. He now weighs almost 6 pounds (like a crenshaw melon) and is more than 18 1/2 inches long. He’s shedding most of the downy covering of hair that covered his body as well as the vernix caseosa, the waxy substance that covered and protected his skin during his nine-month amniotic bath. Your baby swallows both of these substances, along with other secretions, resulting in a blackish mixture, called meconium, will form the contents of his first bowel movement.
At the end of this week, your baby will be considered full-term. (Full-term is 37 to 42 weeks; babies born before 37 weeks are pre-term and those born after 42 are post-term.) Most likely he’s in a head-down position. But if he isn’t, your practitioner may suggest scheduling an “external cephalic version,” which is a fancy way of saying she’ll try to coax your baby into a head-down position by manipulating her from the outside of your belly. credit

Today is also the farthest I made it with my pregnancy with Jacoby so I think we may be on borrowed time people!
Next appointment: Monday April 2nd!
Since there hasn’t been much of late about the other 2 children we have here are some pictures

We went swimming this past weekend at a resort here in NH that a friend has a time share at. The boys had a blast swimming all day with my friends daughter. Noah especially like the little water slide into the 2 foot deep pool. He did go down the big water slide but my friend had to be at the need to catch him. As for stats on these 2: Noah has his 6 year checkup next week so I will post about that then. JJ met with his neurologist last week and he is 41 inches tall and 40.5 pounds. As for his sleep stuff we are still at the wait and see stage. We are working on behavior modification although I am not sure its working. He goes back in 6 weeks.
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 35 weeks
Size of baby: he was measuring at about 5.5 pounds
What’s baby doing: Your baby doesn’t have much room to maneuver now that he’s over 18 inches long and tips the scales at 5 1/4 pounds (pick up a honeydew melon). Because it’s so snug in your womb, he isn’t likely to be doing somersaults anymore, but the number of times he kicks should remain about the same. His kidneys are fully developed now, and his liver can process some waste products. Most of his basic physical development is now complete — he’ll spend the next few weeks putting on weight. credit
Maternity Clothes: yep!
Gender: all boy! although daddy is insistent its a girl
Baby’s Heart Rate: around 150
Movement: his movements have slowed and they are more rolls and somersaults than kicks but that is because he is running out of room in there
What I miss: brushing my teeth without gaging and pants that fit maternity pants just don’t fit quite right they are always falling down!
Cravings: yep still craving root beer! ice cream of coarse, carbs and anything sweet
Weight: I am now at -12, again
My sugar numbers are still all over the place. I seem to have the most trouble with my numbers 2 hours after lunch.
I also met
Next with my neurologist this week for the last time before that baby is born. Although we have had to increase my prednisone twice this pregnancy he says all looks well. He also believes once I recover from the surgery we can go ahead and back down on the prednisone again. So I will see him about 6 weeks after the baby is born.
Next appointment: Monday March 26th!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 34 weeks
Size of baby: 4 3/4 pounds (like your average cantaloupe) and is almost 18 inches long credit
So excited to get a few 3D pictures this week!

What’s baby doing: His fat layers — which will help regulate his body temperature once he’s born — are filling him out, making him rounder. His skin is also smoother than ever. His central nervous system is maturing and his lungs are continuing to mature as well. If you’ve been nervous about preterm labor, you’ll be happy to know that babies born between 34 and 37 weeks who have no other health problems generally do fine. They may need a short stay in the neonatal nursery and may have a few short-term health issues, but in the long run, they usually do as well as full-term babies. credit
Maternity Clothes: yep!
Gender: all boy!
Baby’s Heart Rate: about 152
Movement: plenty and boy can I feel it! This little guy is way more active than I remember his brothers being
What I miss: brushing my teeth without gaging and pants that fit maternity pants just don’t fit quite right they are always falling down!
Cravings: yep still craving root beer! ice cream of coarse, carbs and anything sweet
Symptoms:
Weight: I am now at -12.5
My sugar numbers are all over the place. I seem to have the most trouble with my numbers 2 hours after lunch. They aren’t going to try meds yet because my other numbers are fairly low so we are still in a wait and see pattern. They are still just watching my sugar numbers fluctuate.
Next appointment: Thursday March 15th!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 33 weeks
Size of baby: As of our growth scan on 3/5 he is just under 5 pounds (putting him back into the 47th percentile)
What’s baby doing: He’s rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren’t fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don’t entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood. credit

Weight: I am now at -12…I had gained 4 pounds in 1 week but I am lost 2 of those pounds
My sugar numbers are all over the place. I seem to have the most trouble with my numbers 2 hours after lunch. They aren’t going to try meds yet because my other numbers are fairly low so we are still in a wait and see pattern. They are still just watching my sugar numbers fluctuate.
Next appointment: Friday March 9th!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 32 weeks
Size of baby: By now, your baby weighs 3.75 pounds (pick up a large jicama)
and is about 16.7 inches long. At his growth u/s today our little man measured at just under 4 pounds (35 percentile) credit
What’s baby doing: He now has toenails, fingernails, and real hair (or at least respectable peach fuzz). His skin is becoming soft and smooth as she plumps up in preparation for birth. credit
Maternity Clothes: yep!
Gender: all boy!
Baby’s Heart Rate: his heart rate was 147 during the ultra sound
Movement: plenty and boy can I feel it! This little guy is way more active than I remember his brothers being

Weight: I am now at -14…lost another 2 pounds in the last week
My sugar numbers are all over the place. I seem to have the most trouble with my numbers2 hours after lunch. They aren’t going to try meds yet because my other numbers are fairly low so we are still in a wait and see pattern. Also his growth seems to be slowing so they will watch that closely too…until he get to the 10th percentile or lower they will not do anything but watch it.
Next appointment: Friday March 2nd!
Pregnancy Highlights:
How Far Along: 31 weeks
Size of baby: about the size of a pineapple about 3.5 pounds and about 14 inches
What’s baby doing:
This week, your amazing growing baby is around 3 pounds and 17 inches tall.
With each added layer of baby fat, your baby’s wrinkly raisin skin starts to look more and more like it will when they’re born.
The heavy news: you can expect your miracle-gro muffin to gain about a half a pound of weight per week from now until about two weeks before birth.
Your baby’s developing immune system has made some serious gains over the past weeks getting them in full gear to face our disease-ridden world o’ wonders.
Their cute little noggin’ (which could already be covered with luscious locks or just purty peach fuzz), is still soft because the skull bones have not yet fused together.
Maternity Clothes: yep!
Gender: all boy!
Baby’s Heart Rate: his heart rate was 150-172
Movement: plenty and boy can I feel it! This little guy is way more active than I remember his brothers being..he has finally turned head down but I still feel a lot of movement down low but a lot more up high.
What I miss: brushing my teeth without gaging and pants that fit maternity pants just don’t fit quite right they are always falling down!
